26th ANNIVERSARY MINNESOTA KNITTERS’ DAYS
FRONTENAC, MN
OCTOBER 22nd, 23rd, 24TH, 2010
Come and join us at the Villa Maria Retreat Center for the weekend on Lake Pepin , located about one and a half hours south of the Twin Cities! Enjoy knitting, relaxing and sharing quality time with fellow knitters!
INSTRUCTOR: Susanna Hansson is known to many of you from Yarnover and/or stitches events. She taught Bohus Stickning at the American Swedish Institute last year during the Bohus Stickning exhibition in January. She grew up in Sweden, lives in Seattle, WA and teaches all over North American, in Scandinavia and Japan.
CLASS: Lapland Hand Garments: The Mittens from Rovaniemi, This weekend workshop will focus on Lapland Hand Garments. This little-known technique was used for creating “saw-tooth” like patterns that appear on traditional Sami mittens above the Arctic Circle in Finland, specifically the mittens from Rovaniemi. The class project will be a pair of wristlets. This is one of Susanna’s popular classes and she’s looking forward to bringing it to us!
